Fools Gold is a new body of work currently in progress and made in response to living in a home impacted by Defective Concrete Blocks. One which is now condemned for demolition due to non regulation of building materials, large industry political influence and corporate greed in Ireland. It is inspired and informed by four years of practice-based research and community-engagement, including founding and leading Clare Pyrite Action Group during the period (2020-24). This new work is a response to the archive of materials gathered and created; the photographs, video, interviews, conversations, actions, events, governmental as well as media discourse on this issue.
